Julia’s Fall Fashion Finds:
Happy August! School is just around the corner and back to school shopping is in full swing. I wanted to share with you all, my favorite back to school shopping finds and trends I’m wearing this fall. I am thrilled to be starting my junior year at the University of Rhode Island, and can’t wait to see what the school year brings!
This semester, I’m setting a goal for myself to dress in a more casual but chic way wearing cute and trendy basics to go with everyday looks that are both convenient to have but don’t require any outfit planning the night before. With living off campus this upcoming year, and being further away from classes, I need to accomplish my goal with as much ease as possible. I’m looking at stylish outfits and pieces that will make me feel put together, while still being efficient and comfortable for class.
For classes in general, I like to wear simple basics to elevate my everyday look. For example, I recently purchased these basic short sleeve tops from Amazon that have been great additions to have. I pair them with jeans, skirts, pants and more. They offer the aesthetic of the clean girl trend, without having to put much effort in at all. I also found some really great basic jeans to incorporate into my school outfits. Like the inspiration collage I made, my goal is to be both comfortable and coordinated while still wearing my jeans. I have been searching hard for the perfect pairs and I think I finally found two favorites; this one from American Eagle that are super stretchy, and the other pair from Pacsun, that are low-waisted and more of a baggy fit. While on the jean conversation, I have officially stopped buying jeans with rips in them. Yes, I still wear the ones I own with rips, but when trying to look presentable, the rips don’t look clean and serve almost a negative purpose. Additionally, I am interested in buying these additional basics to go alongside my fall class dress goal. This oversized basic sweatshirt from Amazon or, this stretch cotton cropped t-shirt from Edikted.
I always say if you dress the part you are already halfway there. Dressing better and putting more of an effort in your daily wear will allow you to be and feel more motivated throughout your day. Other easy ways to feel more put together is with a matching set. Utilizing sets within your everyday attire makes it easier to pick an outfit and look coordinated with not much coordination needed. I am currently loving the Mad Happy sets and you can find them online or with their new collaboration with GAP. Additionally, I really love this set for class from Nordstrom and this set from Free People that is so comfortable you will never want to take it off.
More for back to school, you NEED a good back to school shoe! After working all summer you deserve a great new lifestyle sneaker for walking around campus, the first round of recruitment or for just that extra confidence boost on the first day of class. There have been a few brands and shoes I have been eyeing for the past few months and I can’t decide which one is best. Starting off strong, the New Balance T500 is so cute. They would match with everything and would be perfect for the fall. My second option is the New Balance 574 in blue. Not the color scheme for fall, but I love the blue and how they would go with everything. love my current New Balance sneakers and how comfortable they are which is really making me want to go with the New Balances. However, the Gola brand has really started to gain a following this past season. They are a more sustainable option and this pair might be the perfect pick for me. I really like the neutral colors. The second pair on my wish list is super similar to the first. These have more color to them, but are still super casual and neutral that they could also go with everything as well! My best friend, Gracie, wears this pair that always looks so good and would be a great pop of color for fall. They also have similar shoes without the platform listed on their website as well. Spice up whatever back to school shoes you buy with the Free People shoe and lace charm set!
If you're starting a new job or internship this fall, I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces that I have been wearing this summer and that I am buying for work. Currently, I’m loving the slingback heel trend and I recently purchased this pair . I additionally love these shoes as they are so cute for such an inexpensive price. Pulse the maroon edit isn’t going anywhere so having some maroon accessories to add within your wardrobe makes the best pop of color! I just bought my first blazer set and I am loving it. It is so comfortable and chic and I get so many compliments when I wear it! I am also currently loving the longline vest trend as well, and have recently been wearing this one. In the cooler months, pair with a tight long sleeve or white collared button down. Additionally, I also have been liking the English Factory textured pieces as well. This one is perfect for the fall and cooler temperatures. I love that this item has super chic puff sleeves as well! Pair with your favorite brown tall boots.
The school bag and water bottle debate… Which ones are you bringing to your first day of class? Each season as we approach back to school, new bags and water bottles are the first to set the classroom trend. What I have noticed is that there are mainly only three options to choose from. You either have a new Lululemon backpack with an oversized Stanley cup or you have a North Face backpack alongside your brand new Owala. Most of the time, there is no in between. Although I typically side with the North Face and Owala users, both are pretty great options for comfort and durability. I did say three options though…. The third is the girl who is setting the trends, wearing a tote bag to class and looking more coordinated than the rest. My two top tote bag recommendations are as follows. This Kate Spade bag, in which I used all summer for my marketing internship! It has lots of space and I got the matching Kate Spade pouch to go inside which was both super cute and helpful for all of the things I needed in the office. Additionally, I love this Longchamp dupe! It looks just like the real one and is super good quality for a fraction of the real ones price! Perfect for the fall when attending career fairs, interviews and more!
Is costume jewelry making a comeback? Charm jewelry and chunky layered pieces are being seen in collections and styles everywhere. Here is how you can incorporate the trend within your own collection… I am currently loving simple charm pieces that are stackable like this Coastal Girl Necklace from EVRY Jewels. This necklace stacks great with both the Lisa Love Necklace and the Coastal Charm Necklace! These coastal theme necklaces are perfect for my University of Rhode Island girls living by the beach! They also have so many other great options as well. The best thing about EVRY Jewels is that it's even waterproof. I am able to swim and shower without my jewelry tarnishing. For more simplistic and smaller pieces, shop small with Caitlyn Minimalist! I am in love with some of their new pieces for fall and how well their pieces go with every day attire. I am currently loving their birthstone ring and how affordable and tasteful the piece is. and also customizable. I love mine, and I get so many compliments when I wear it! Top on my wish list right now is their thin stacking rings set. I love how simple and timeless the pieces are. The stack is perfect for every occasion; classes, work and more. The best part with the company is that it’s eco friendly and sustainable and donates proceeds from each purchase for the planet. Before I sign off I also wanted to share that I currently have a promotional deal going on with Leilo! The company uses a plant called Kava to produce different beverages to help you sleep or relax. They also offer other beverage options as well. I have recently just started trying the products am I am really enjoying them. I would recommend trying this bundle to start, which comes with both the relax and sleep drinks so you can try both options. Great for students needing extra assistance trying to sleep after a long day or to help you relax if feeling stressed for an upcoming exam or event. Once again, if you decide to purchase, use code JULIAKOBELSKI for $5 off your purchase!
Wishing you the best for the start of the fall semester and all that is to come ahead! As Always,
Xoxo,
Jules :)
